Model: 1990 esprit

Vehicle History: Purchased in June 2005 from a little Asian man in Sydney who had clearly neglected and miss used the vehicle. The car had been imported from china by himself where he did things only an imbecile would do to an esprit, ie; glue an ashtray to the dashboard !! Anyhow once I had the car in my care I had the engine rebuilt by Luke at automotive diagnostics in Ringwood and a few other minor jobs done by Steve Taylor in bayswater. There are many more things on the esprit list that I plan to do, all in good time in esprit world I guess.

Vehicle History: Built on the 10th December 1982 - just a few days before Colin Chapmans death, and delivered to Station Garage Taplow (UK) before somehow finding its way to Hong Kong in the 1990's before arriving in Perth late in 2000 as a partially restored project. After an extended restoration period replacing many parts, that also included new stainless steel petrol tanks, and fully rebuilt gearbox with many new parts and crown & pinion, the car finally hit the roads again in January 2004 to join the 20 or so other Esprit in Perth. Work has continued with ongoing suspension upgrades, new leather and much more.

MODEL: 1984 S3 Esprit

Vehicle History:Purchased on an extended trip to the UK in 1997. I got as much maintenance done to the car before shipping it to Sydney as a Personal Import. Got pulled over by the Highway Patrol on the F3 within an hour of picking it up at the docks! Unfortunately since buying the car I have spent more time working away from home so have not driven it as much as I need to to satisfy my love of the Esprit. In 2004 I moved to Perth and shipped the car to the west coast where I have yet to register it

Owner: Peter Why

State: Western Australia

MODEL: 1979 Esprit S1

Vehicle History:This car has had 3 owners including myself. I bought it in 2003 from Dave Sullivan who had owned it for some 20 years. Dave was a well known racing driver in Perth and also had an Elan +2. In the past 6 years the car has had less than 1,000 kms of use being garaged by Dave and myself. I have had over $8,000 of work done on it by Sports Car Garage Welshpool, Perth including an upgrade to the cooling system making it more efficient.

Owner: Geoff Winder & Kristine Bennett

We have travelled from Sydney to Hobart, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide in the car and attend track days a couple of times a year. It is still going strong.
Upgrades and modifications are numerous.

MODEL: Esprit 1989 SE

Vehicle History: Bought in 2000 with 50,000km on the clock (if you can trust Lotus clocks???). Now has 60,000kms. Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious but I'm slowly winning the battle for reliability. Club Lotus and the Elan Factory have been invaluable & have probably saved me 10's of thousands in servicing costs. I now do most of the work on the car myself (most servicing centres leave it in a worst state than it was before). I'm currently working on the cosmetics, but really need to sort out the air conditioning system (Help!). Very few mods other than necessary ones (99% original). Anyway, it has been a real experience owning it.. and it's my pride and joy

Owner: Guy Stevens

State: VIC

MODEL: Esprit 1989 SE

Vehicle History:: Bought the car from UK owner in mid 2007. Arrived Freo Sept 2007. Previous owner had the car for 8 years and did all his own maintenance - very well looked after. Has about 83,000 miles on the clock and 500 miles since new pistons/liners. Right now I am preparing the car for WA registration. MODEL: 1990 Turbo Esprit SE

Vehicle History:I bought this car 3 years ago in Melbourne from a business partnership breakup. Prior to that it belonged to Mike Palmer, ( hi Mike!) It was part of the stock market crash of 1988, the year it was built, and was reposessed and sat in a wharehouse where it was bought by a businessman along with the remaing 14 of the 25 that were imported in 1988. He kept this one as the Australian Brochure car as it was the only one that was painted in the Claret Red in 1988 and had it registered and spec'd as a 1990. It has been O-ringed and has 3" Exaust with High Flowed T3 and is running 10.5lb of boost delivering 230 horses at the wheels. Citroen Transaxle is now semi reliable due to crogenically treated gears, crown wheel and pinion.Mostly Manitained by Team GP in Melbourne and now at Brisbane Tuning and Turbo here in Brisvegas, Nice clean old girl, well maintained and a pleasure to drive.

MODEL: 1981 Turbo Esprit

Vehicle History: Built & registered in '81 with what I believe to be a rare dry sump engine configuration. Quite a way into the production run and still a dry sumper?!?! Don't really know much about the history of the car as I brought it as a restoration project. Acquired in 2002 and just about done. A few warts on the paint and a belt service to do, plus a few other little jobs. Looks a lot better than when I brought it, with new leather, new paint, new badges & decals, refurbed wheels, new tyres, all new brakes & suspension... A very long list of works completed. And I just had to bring her to Australia with me from the UK

Owner: Graham Smith

MODEL: 1988 Esprit Turbo

Vehicle History: I purchased this car in 1996 from an overseas owner cause it was just sitting in Paul McCreery's workshop! Rebuilt the engine after a wastgate problem overboosted, blowing headgasket & took out the pistons & liners. Wasted my time on a hand made clutch, going back to stock. Most awesome thing I have ever driven, but that doesn't stop me wanting a Sport 300 or a McLaren F1!

Owner: Peter Chrisp

MODEL: Esprit 88 turbo

MODEL: Esprit V8 1998

Vehicle History: Originally purchased & registered in the UK by an Airline Pilot who was extremely fastidious & made sure that the car was optioned with the best of everything. Arrived in Australia in late 2005 and I acquired it in 2006 (4th owner). The car is totally original and in extremely good condition with every receipt & service document duly logged & archived. I drive it regularly at least once a fortnight on weekends, weather permitting. I carry out all my own servicing, including belt changes & tensioning, etc (I have obtained all the Lotus factory tools to complete the majority of service requirements) as I do not trust anyone else to satisfactorily & honestly maintain the vehicle. Real knowledge of the V8 is extremely rare in Australia, including the factory dealers, and I’ve found it easier to obtain the tools & knowledge myself. It also makes maintenance much cheaper, but much more fun as I enjoy having a tinker and they are relatively easy to service. No real problems with the vehicle, but I never drive the car hard (maybe firmly from time to time) and respect its limitations. Fabulous supercar to own, with mind numbing performance, that still turns heads everywhere it goes.

Owner: Michael Bierton

STATE: Western Australia

MODEL: Esprit S4

Vehicle History:After dreaming about this for 18 years and looking for 18 months, I finally found this S4 after actually giving up looking an hour earlier. The car was purchased from Giles Cole after I spent 4 hours on fathers day in 2008 looking at the car.
Love it.

Vehicle History: Recently purchased (September 2008) via Melbourne from Japan. 33,000 km on the clock (previously one of 40 vehicles in a private Japanese collection) .Some of the usual mods but otherwise original .Excellent condition generally; have had some minor repairs made to passenger door electric window (sticky switch) and primary headlights (mirrors discoloured) - the latter a bit of pain!
.Just in process of registering in WA (interstate vehicle/registration transfer leaves a lot to be desired) .Waited 20 years to buy this, my favourite of all models. Absolutely love it.

My ex wife and I then spent a year driving around 21 countries in Europe. I shipped it back to Australia in 1996 then drove it a further 10000 miles around OZ, totalling over 30000miles (50000 kms) in 22 countries. I still drive it regularly but it has still not reached 80000 miles yet.
